It is important to do so, that when a typhoon does come along you shall be prepared and dont really need to worry about anything happening to you or your family. For example you prepared a first aid kit, food, & ropes when the typhoon comes and you get a wound you have a first aid kit to heal the wound. When there is no food, since you prepared food you have something to eat.
